Spring in South Texas

We had almost 3 inches of rain last Wednesday, and our spring flowers are blooming. Here's a sample of what South Texas has to offer:
From the backyard: Lantana,Plumbago, and
Esparanza
(In a few more days, this
one will be COVERED in
Yellow blooms!)

In the Fro
ntyard: Honeysuckle and Oleander

The beauty of the colors really doesn't come through in the photos - the sun was so bright today.

Thanks for commenting on my blog! I had to laugh, yes, I tend to have hoarder tendencies....I just feel so sorry for any strays, for any unwanted, unloved creatures really.

I also had to laugh at your entry about Easter being "so cold", first of all because I used to live in San Antonio, so I am jealous and secondly, because it snowed here on Easter!

We had the chilly weather on Good Friday here in the DFW Metroplex. My poor daughter and her family travelled down from Missouri and were totally unprepared for the weather, clothng wise. She had to go buy herself a hoodie and a couple extra long sleeve shirts for the girlies! We had flurries on Sat! It was crazy for sure! Last night though, I got to slepp with the windows open again! Only in Texas!

The Bluebonnets are especially beautiful this Spring! I live in a semi rural area and the foals are in the pastures with their mommies and I see Longhorn calves out in the fields. The Indian Paintbrush are beginning to bloom as well and soon the Indian Blankets will be along the roadsides too! Springtime has a way of making my heart sing after the long, dark Winter!
Hugs,
Connie

I'm so jealous of your flowers! I had a few that had started to bloom and then it snowed. Hopefully my plants will all come back. =)
